TAURASI RISERVA

DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

Taurasi, produced from Aglianico grapes, is recognized as the monarch of the Aglianico family. This varietal was introduced to southern Italy by the ancient Greeks or Hellenics, and originally known as “Hellenica” and subsequently, “Aglianico”. Because of the well-established image of the production area located amongst the mountains of Irpinia, with their particular pedological and micro-climatic conditions, Taurasi is recognized as being one of the noble Italian red wines. The Struzziero winery ages the wine in 25 and 10 Hl oak barrels in a truly special barrel cellar, for a period ranging from 24 months to 48 months for superior vintages. Six months of bottle aging complete the production of this excellent red wine, which reveals its unique and special qualities when tasted. It can be preserved for long periods and improves with age, reaching high quality levels even after 25 years.
