DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA

According to legend, “God recognized the gulf of Naples as being a strip of heaven which had been stolen Lucifer, and cried, and wherever his divine tears fell the Lacryma Christi vine grew”. The basic varietals are “Palummina” and “Olivella” from which a dry, harmonious, agreeable wine with a good bouquet is obtained.
HISTORICAL ORIGIN: Greek.


LOCATION OF VINEYARDS: the slopes of Vesuvius.
VARIETY: 85% Palummina (Piedirosso) – 15% Olivella (Aglianico).
VINIFICATION: crushing-stemming – fermentation off-skins. Controlled fermentation. Bottled in the month of March following the harvest. Resistance to aging: at least 5 years.
ALCOHOLIC STRENGTH: 12.5 vol.
ORGANOLEPTIC FEATURES: Delicate, bright pink color. Intense, elegant, characteristic, ethereal, persistent bouquet with hints of spices and licorice. Distinctive, unmistakable taste which is silky and persistent, with a full and rounded aftertaste.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 14/15°C.
GASTRONOMICAL ACCOMPANIMENTS: fish soup.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: 14/15°C.
GASTRONOMICAL ACCOMPANIMENTS: roast meats, game, cheeses.

The basic varietal is Caprettone from which a dry, harmonious, agreeable wine with a good bouquet is obtained.


HISTORICAL ORIGIN: Greek.
LOCATION OF VINEYARDS: the slopes of Vesuvius.
VARIETY: 85% Caprettone (Coda di Volpe) – 15% Falanghina or Greco.
VINIFICATION: crushing-stemming-soft pressing. Controlled fermentation. Bottled in the month of March following the harvest. Resistance to aging: at least 3 years.
ALCOHOLIC STRENGTH: 12.5 vol.
ORGANOLEPTIC FEATURES: Intense, bright pale yellow color. Intense, elegant, characteristic, ethereal, persistent bouquet with hints of licorice. Distinctive, unmistakable taste which is silky and persistent with a full and rounded aftertaste.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 10/12°C.
